SQ Ep 043 - Meetup at MQS

Posted in Uncategorized by scientificquilter on May 20th, 2012

In this show, we discussed my day volunteering sorting and receiving quilts for the quilt show, my day with quilt show ribbons, and the meetup with two podcast listeners and friends.  It's comfy going to a real live quilt show and I wish everyone could be a part of it. MQS stands for Machine Quilters Showcase. Be prepared to hear the word/phrase  "long arm" or "longarming" a lot. The audio recorded from the show is near the end.

I stumbled upon some works by John Simms and immediately thought of you. He did a photo from a digital self portrait similar to your pixilated quilt ideas. He also did a Pi quilt by translating the numerals in Pi to a quilt design. I believe each numeral digit equates to a different color. Anyway, you might be interested in reading about a like-minded scientific quilter. http://www.almasue.com/creative-journeys.htm Stitch on!
